Route overview
- At about 2,675 nm, this trip is beyond the typical nonstop range of light jets and midsize jets. Super Midsize Jets are the smallest category that can usually fly it without a fuel stop.
- There are 4 airport combinations for this trip. Choosing between them changes the flying distance by up to 28 nm, so ground transfer time often matters more than the airport choice.
- London City Airport has a runway of about 4,948 ft, which limits the aircraft that can use it.

Private jet Riyadh to London: a working day in the air, door to door
A private jet Riyadh to London flight is one of the classic long-haul journeys of Gulf business aviation. Our route model puts the great-circle distance at 2,675 nautical miles, and a super midsize, heavy or ultra-long-range jet flies it nonstop in about 6 hours 20 to 6 hours 30 minutes. You leave the private terminal at King Khalid International, cross Arabia, the eastern Mediterranean and Europe in one cabin, and land at a business aviation airport on the edge of London in time for a late lunch.
The corridor serves two very different kinds of trip. One is the business shuttle: executives, advisers and delegations moving between Saudi Arabia's capital and London's financial and legal centres. The other is the long summer stay, when families spend weeks in London and bring a lot of luggage with them. Both depend on the same decisions: which aircraft can fly nonstop, which London airport fits your address, what UK entry involves, and whether a return or two one-ways makes more sense. The data sections above show the figures from our route model; this guide explains what they mean.
JetPriceCheck is a charter broker. We do not own or operate aircraft. We compare licensed operators' aircraft and terms for your dates and coordinate the trip until you land. You can read about our approach on the JetPriceCheck homepage.
Why charter a private jet from Riyadh to London
Scheduled airlines connect the two cities daily with strong premium cabins, so a private charter is chosen for control, privacy and group travel rather than access.
- Your departure time. The flight leaves when your day allows, within airport rules, not when the airline's schedule does.
- Privacy for seven hours. A delegation can prepare for meetings, and a family can rest, without other passengers on board.
- Baggage for long stays. Summer trips often involve many suitcases. On a private flight the baggage plan is agreed with the operator and the bags travel with you.
- Arrival close to where you are going. London's business aviation airports spread around the city, so you can land near Mayfair, the City, Surrey or Hertfordshire rather than at an airline hub.
The trade-off is cost. For one or two people, a first-class seat is much cheaper than an aircraft. A private jet Riyadh to London charter makes most sense for groups, for families with staff and luggage, and for trips where timing matters.
Nonstop aircraft for the Riyadh to London route
Our model rates the super midsize jet as the smallest category that flies this route nonstop. Smaller jets need a fuel stop.
Super midsize jets: the smallest nonstop option
A super midsize jet seats about eight or nine passengers, offers a stand-up cabin and, on our model, flies the route in about 6 hours 30 minutes. The Cessna Citation Longitude and the Gulfstream G280 appear in our right-sized list. For a small group this is the entry point for a nonstop private jet Riyadh to London flight.
At 2,675 nm, though, a super midsize has less range to spare than a heavy jet. Westbound flights from the Gulf to Europe often face headwinds, and a full cabin with heavy baggage adds weight. The operator confirms nonstop feasibility for your date, passengers and luggage before you commit; if the margin is thin, a heavy jet removes the doubt.
Heavy jets for families and delegations
Heavy jets seat roughly 10 to 14 passengers and fly the route in about 6 hours 30 minutes on our model. Our right-sized list includes the Embraer Legacy 650E, the Bombardier Challenger 650 and the Dassault Falcon 2000LXS, and the Gulfstream G450 is a further large-cabin option. For a summer family trip with staff and heavy luggage, this is often the category that fits. The Embraer Praetor 600 is also on the list for groups that fit a smaller cabin but want long range.
Ultra-long-range jets and VIP airliners
Ultra-long-range jets, with 12 to 17 seats, trim the time to about 6 hours 20 minutes on our model and add the largest cabins in the business jet class. VIP airliners, for groups of about 19 or more, carry an unknown range fit in our model, so the operator confirms routing case by case.
Light and midsize jets: only with a fuel stop
Light and midsize jets carry a fuel-stop rating. They can make the journey, but not in one hop, and the stop adds ground time, fees and another set of permissions. Our model's flight times of about 7 hours 10 minutes for a light jet and 6 hours 55 minutes for a midsize jet exclude the time on the ground at the stop. Their estimated prices are also closer to the super midsize figures than you might expect. For most travellers, a nonstop jet is the better fit. Turboprops, at an estimated 10 hours 10 minutes, are not a realistic option. Compare the categories in our aircraft guide.
Leaving Riyadh: King Khalid International
Our data lists King Khalid International Airport (RUH) as the departure airport, north of the city. Riyadh Airports Company opened a private aviation terminal there in December 2018, and that is where private passengers are processed before departure.
The airport is also part of a larger project. King Salman International Airport, backed by the Public Investment Fund, is being developed around the existing King Khalid site. For now private flights use King Khalid's facilities, but terminal arrangements may change over the coming years, and we confirm the details with the operator for each trip.
Choosing a London airport for your Riyadh flight
Our data lists four London airports, with Farnborough and Luton as the typical choices. The right one depends on where you are staying and on the aircraft.
Farnborough: business aviation only
Farnborough Airport, south-west of London in Hampshire, handles business aviation only, with no scheduled airline service. That makes arrival quick and quiet. It suits destinations in west and south-west London, Surrey and the Thames Valley. Farnborough operates under an annual movement limit, and Aviation International News has reported on its efforts to raise it, which is a reminder to book early in the busiest weeks.
Luton: north of the city
London Luton Airport handles business aviation alongside airline traffic. It is often the practical choice for addresses in north London, Hertfordshire or the Midlands, and many business jets are based there.
Biggin Hill: south-east London and Kent
London Biggin Hill is another business aviation airport, convenient for south and south-east London and Kent.
London City: close to the City, with limits
London City Airport is the nearest airport to the City and Canary Wharf, but it is a steep-approach airport, and only aircraft approved for steep approaches can operate there. Few long-range jets that can fly nonstop from Riyadh meet that requirement, so treat City as a question to ask rather than a plan.
For many passengers, the road transfer into central London takes as long as an hour or more at busy times, so choose the airport by door-to-door time, not by the map.
Entering the UK by private jet
A private flight does not change UK entry rules. Passengers see Border Force on arrival, and the operator files a General Aviation Report before the flight so that officers know who is on board.
- ETA or visa. Visitors who are not British or Irish citizens may need a UK Electronic Travel Authorisation or a visa, depending on nationality. Saudi nationals visiting for short stays are among those who can use an ETA rather than a visa; the Home Office ETA factsheet sets out who needs one. Residents of Saudi Arabia with other passports should check their own nationality's rules.
- Apply early. An ETA or visa is not something to arrange on the day. Every passenger, including children and household staff, needs the right permission before departure.
- Passenger details. We collect names, dates of birth and passport details for everyone on board, so the GAR and the manifest match.
Time zones and a typical flight day
Riyadh runs on UTC+3 all year. London is on UTC+0 in winter and UTC+1 in summer, so the clock goes back two or three hours westbound. A super midsize leaving King Khalid at 11:00 lands in London at about 15:30 in summer, or 14:30 in winter, on our model's 6 hours 30 minutes. The return is an overnight flight if you leave London in the evening, which suits a heavy jet with a proper rest area.
Riyadh London private jet price: reading the estimates
The ranges in the data sections are estimates from our demonstration pricing model, in US dollars, not quotes.
| Category | Estimated flight time | One-way estimate (USD) | Return estimate (USD) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Super midsize jet | about 6 h 30 min | about 68,000–99,000 | about 85,000–124,000 |
| Heavy jet | about 6 h 30 min | about 83,000–124,000 | about 104,000–155,000 |
| Ultra-long-range jet | about 6 h 20 min | about 111,000–171,000 | about 138,000–214,000 |
What drives the price
- Positioning. A one-way price includes the aircraft's empty flight home. That is why the return estimates are only about a quarter higher than the one-way figures.
- Length of stay. For a short business trip, a return with the aircraft waiting is usually good value. For a summer stay of several weeks, two separate one-ways are often cheaper than keeping the aircraft in London.
- Season. The summer peak between the Gulf and London tightens availability of heavy jets.
- Airport and handling fees differ between Farnborough, Luton, Biggin Hill and London City.

When to book: the Gulf summer and London's calendar
Demand on this corridor has a clear shape. From early summer, many Saudi families leave the heat for long stays in London, and outbound flights cluster at the start of the season while returns cluster at the end. In those weeks heavy jets are the first category to be booked, and Farnborough's movement limit makes early planning more important. If you know your summer dates, share them early and we can hold more options open.
Business travel runs all year, with a lighter summer and busier spring and autumn months. London's social and sporting season in early summer, and major conferences and financial events through the year, also bring extra business jets into the London airports. We do not publish exact event dates on this page because they change each year; tell us your dates and we will check them against the calendar and airport capacity.
For a private jet Riyadh to London trip in the peak weeks, flexibility helps. A departure a day earlier, or from a less busy London airport, can widen the choice of aircraft considerably, and a private jet Riyadh to London booking made well ahead is easier to match with the right cabin.
Empty legs between Riyadh and London
With so many aircraft flying Gulf families to London at the start of summer and back at the end, the opposite direction often has aircraft flying empty. An empty leg is a flight the operator must make anyway, sometimes offered at a lower price. The date and aircraft are fixed, and it can be cancelled if the original trip changes. If you can be flexible, check our empty-leg flights page.
