Private jet New York to Dubai: one of the longest nonstop charters we arrange
A private jet New York to Dubai flight crosses the Atlantic, Europe and the Arabian Peninsula in a single sector if you choose the right aircraft. Our figures put the great-circle distance at 5,951 nautical miles, and the only category our model rates as nonstop is the ultra long range jet, with an estimated flight time of about 13 hours 25 minutes. Everything smaller can still make the trip, but with at least one fuel stop on the way.
That makes this corridor different from almost every other route out of New York. On a hop to Miami or Chicago, the aircraft choice is about comfort. Here it decides whether you arrive after one long night in the air or after a stop in Europe, a crew change and a longer day. The data sections above set out the numbers; this guide explains what they mean for a real trip.
We are a charter broker. We do not own or operate aircraft. We source your flight from licensed operators, compare what is available for your dates and stay with the trip until you land. You can read more about how we work on the JetPriceCheck homepage.
Who flies private between New York and Dubai
The travellers on this corridor are a mix of finance and real-estate executives, family offices, and families heading to the Gulf for the winter season. Some are going to Dubai itself; others use it as the gateway to the wider region, continuing to Riyadh, Abu Dhabi or Doha once they have landed.
The problem most of them are trying to solve is not speed. Scheduled nonstop service between New York and Dubai exists, and a first-class seat is comfortable. What a private jet New York to Dubai charter adds is control over the whole 13-plus hours. You choose the departure time rather than fitting around a bank of airline departures. You leave from Teterboro, not JFK's terminals. The cabin is yours for meetings, sleep or family time, and on arrival you clear immigration in a private terminal rather than a busy airline hall.
Nonstop or with a stop: what range means on this route
The aircraft table above lists every category that can fly between New York and Dubai, but only one is marked nonstop. Reading that table correctly is the most important step in planning this trip.
Ultra long range jets: the nonstop choice
Our data lists the ultra long range jet as the smallest category that flies this corridor without stopping, at an estimated 13 hours 25 minutes. The right-sized aircraft for the route are the Bombardier Global 7500 and the Gulfstream G700, both designed for sectors of this length with separate cabin zones, a full galley and space to lie flat. Our model shows them for groups of about 12 to 17 passengers, though on a flight of this length most clients prefer fewer people and more bed space.
Even for an ultra long range jet, nonstop is a planning result, not a promise. Winds, passenger and baggage weight, and temperatures at the departure airport all affect how far the aircraft can fly on a given day. The operator confirms the nonstop plan for your date before you commit.
Heavy jets: one stop, more choice
Heavy jets appear in our table at about 13 hours 50 minutes of flying time, with a fuel stop. That figure is flying time only: the stop itself adds time on the ground for fuel and, often, a fresh crew under the operator's duty-time rules. In practice a heavy jet trip is a longer day than the nonstop option, but it widens the choice of aircraft and lowers the estimate range.
Super midsize, midsize and light jets
Our model also shows super midsize, midsize and light jets on this route, all with fuel stops, at between roughly 13 hours 55 minutes and 15 hours 25 minutes of flying time. On a sector of nearly 6,000 nm, these smaller cabins mean more than one stop, tighter space for sleeping and a much longer journey overall. We rarely recommend them for New York to Dubai, and we will say so plainly if your group would be better served by a larger aircraft.
Turboprops and VIP airliners are shown as "check the route" in our data: a turboprop is not realistic for this crossing, and a VIP airliner is arranged case by case. You can compare every category in our aircraft guide.
Direction, winds and the clock
Flight times in our table are still-air estimates. Eastbound flights often benefit from the prevailing westerly winds over the Atlantic, and the westbound return from Dubai to New York usually faces headwinds, so the flight home tends to take longer. That is one reason an aircraft that makes the outbound flight nonstop may need a stop on the way back.
Dubai is 8 hours ahead of New York in summer and 9 in winter, because the UAE does not change its clocks. An evening departure from Teterboro lands in Dubai in the evening of the following day, local time, which suits a night's sleep on board and a full night in a hotel before business the next morning.
New York departure airports
Teterboro (TEB)
Our data lists Teterboro as the typical departure airport. Owned by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, it is a general aviation reliever airport in New Jersey, about 12 miles from Midtown Manhattan, and it handles no scheduled airline flights, according to Wikipedia. Long-range jets use it every day. Our Teterboro airport guide covers the FBOs and access.
For the return, Teterboro also matters. CBP publishes a Teterboro fact sheet as a general aviation airport of entry, so a flight home from Dubai can land there and clear US customs on the airfield, a short drive from Manhattan.
Westchester County (HPN)
Westchester County Airport in White Plains is the natural choice for travellers based in Westchester, Fairfield County or north of the city. Ask us whether the aircraft available for your date can depart from there with the fuel it needs.
JFK
John F. Kennedy International is listed as an alternative. It has long runways and full international facilities, but it is a busy airline hub, and most private travellers only use it when an aircraft or a connection makes it the better option. Our guide to New York's private jet airports compares all three.
Dubai arrival airports: Al Maktoum or Dubai International
Al Maktoum International (DWC)
Our data names Al Maktoum International Airport, also known as Dubai World Central, as the primary arrival airport. It sits in the Dubai South district, south-west of the city towards Jebel Ali. Dubai's authorities have spent more than a decade encouraging business aviation to move there from the busier Dubai International, a shift reported in detail by FlightGlobal, and the airport's Wikipedia entry describes its long-term expansion plans.
DWC has several private terminals. One of them, DC Aviation Al-Futtaim, describes an integrated business aviation facility with a VIP lounge and customs and immigration on site. Your operator chooses the handler, and we pass its details to you with the trip sheet.
The main trade-off is the drive. From Dubai Marina, Palm Jumeirah or Jebel Ali, DWC is often convenient. If you are staying in Downtown Dubai, DIFC or Deira, allow more time on the road, especially in rush hour.
Dubai International (DXB)
Dubai International is listed as an alternative. It is much closer to the older business districts, but it is one of the world's busiest airline hubs, so slots and parking for private aircraft are harder to secure. We consider it when the timing or your final destination makes the shorter drive worth the constraints.
Entering the UAE and returning to the United States
UAE arrival
Every passenger clears UAE immigration and customs on arrival at the private terminal. According to the UAE Embassy in Washington and the US State Department, US citizens on ordinary passports receive a visa on arrival for up to 90 days within a 180-day period, with a passport valid for at least six months. Diplomatic and official passport holders must obtain a visa in advance. Other nationalities follow their own rules.
For the aircraft, the UAE's civil aviation authority sets out landing permissions for foreign-registered aircraft in its aeronautical information publication. On a charter, those permits are the operator's job. Your part is a complete passenger list and passport details in good time, because permits and manifests are built from them.
The flight home: CBP at Teterboro or preclearance at Shannon
On the return, the operator files the passenger manifest with US Customs and Border Protection through eAPIS, which federal rules require at least 60 minutes before departure for flights arriving in the United States. A nonstop return usually clears customs on arrival at Teterboro.
If the return includes a fuel stop, one option stands out. Shannon Airport in Ireland offers full US preclearance for private and charter aircraft. You clear US immigration and customs in Ireland and land in the United States as a domestic arrival. CBP's hours at Shannon vary by season, and a diversion cancels the preclearance, so the operator plans the timing carefully. It is not the only way to stop, but it can make the last leg home much smoother.
Private jet New York to Dubai cost: reading the estimates
The price table above shows estimate ranges from our demonstration pricing model, in US dollars. They are not quotes and they are not offers. Only a licensed operator can price a specific aircraft on a specific date.
On our model, a one-way ultra long range jet for a private jet New York to Dubai flight sits at an estimated USD 236,000–364,000. A heavy jet with a fuel stop shows at about USD 177,000–265,000 one way, and a super midsize jet at about USD 145,000–212,000. VIP airliners start at about USD 414,000. Our private jet cost guide explains how charter pricing works in more detail.
What drives the price on this corridor
- Nonstop or not. The ultra long range category carries the highest estimates among business jets, and it is the one that saves the stop.
- Positioning. The nearest suitable aircraft may be based in Europe or the Gulf rather than New York. The flight to bring it to Teterboro, and to take it home, is part of the cost.
- Crew. Flights of this length may need an augmented crew, with an extra pilot and rest facilities, which operators build into their price.
- Waiting time. If the aircraft stays in Dubai for your return, crew hotels, daily allowances and parking are added.
- Season. Demand for Dubai peaks in the cooler months, and aircraft availability follows.
One-way versus return
Our model shows the return estimate well below double the one-way figure. For an ultra long range jet the return range is about USD 294,000–455,000, against USD 236,000–364,000 one way. The reason is positioning: a one-way trip often pays for the aircraft to fly home empty, while a return uses both sectors. On a route this long, how many days the aircraft waits in Dubai makes a large difference, so we compare a return with two separate one-ways when your dates are more than a few days apart.
When you are ready for firm figures, request a quote through JetPriceCheck and we will put options from licensed operators side by side.
When to fly: Dubai's season and the long-haul calendar
Dubai's most comfortable weather runs from roughly November to March, when daytime temperatures are mild and the city's outdoor season is in full swing. Summer brings intense heat, and leisure travel thins out, although business travel continues year round. For a New York to Dubai private flight, that pattern means more competition for long-range aircraft in winter, particularly around the year-end holidays, when many families head for the Gulf at the same time.
Book the nonstop category early for those periods: ultra long range jets are a small part of the charter fleet.
Empty legs between New York and Dubai
Empty legs happen when an aircraft has to reposition without passengers, for example after dropping a client in Dubai. On a corridor this long, they are rare and unpredictable, but when they appear they can be significantly cheaper than a standard charter. The trade-off is fixed dates and times, and the flight can change if the original client's plans do. Our empty-leg flights page lists what is currently available.
Planning a long private flight: sleep, catering and connections
A flight of more than 13 hours needs a plan for the cabin. Tell us how many people want to sleep, and we will check the aircraft's berthing layout rather than just its seat count. Mention dietary needs, and whether you want meals on New York time or Dubai time to help with jet lag.
Dubai is also a regional hub. If your trip continues, compare flights such as Dubai to Riyadh, or look at the London to Dubai corridor if you plan to break the journey in Europe. Our Dubai destination page covers arrivals from other cities.
How we arrange your private jet New York to Dubai flight
As a broker, our job is to match the trip to the right aircraft and operator, then manage the details:
- You tell us the essentials. Dates, passenger names and nationalities, luggage, and whether you want nonstop or are open to a stop.
- We source options. We ask licensed operators for suitable aircraft and show them side by side, including cabin layout and sleeping arrangements.
- We check the routing. Nonstop feasibility for your date and load, or the best stop, including Shannon preclearance for the return where it fits.
- You confirm. The operator's contract terms apply, and we explain what is included.
- We plan the ground. Car to Teterboro, the handler at Al Maktoum and the drive to your hotel.
- We stay with the trip. If weather, a permit or your plans change, we work with the operator on alternatives.
