Private jet charter Nice: flying out from the Riviera

Private jet charter Nice departures carry a very particular kind of traveller. Some live on the Riviera or in Monaco and fly out for business in Paris, London, Geneva or Milan. Others have spent a week or a summer on the coast and need to get home with family, staff and luggage at the end of it. Either way, the starting point is almost always Nice Côte d'Azur, the airport on the edge of the Mediterranean that serves Nice, Monaco, Cannes, Antibes and the villages in the hills behind them.

The airport table above shows Nice Côte d'Azur as the one airport in our dataset for the city, and the route table lists the corridors we cover from Nice, with flight times and estimate ranges for the smallest aircraft that can fly each one nonstop. This guide explains what those numbers mean when you are leaving the Riviera: how the airport and its neighbours work, which aircraft fit which route, when departures peak, and what really drives the price.

We are a charter broker. We do not own or operate aircraft. We compare what licensed operators can offer for your date and stay with the trip until you land. You can read more about how we work on the JetPriceCheck homepage.

Nice Côte d'Azur: a busy airport with a dedicated business side

Nice Côte d'Azur Airport is built largely on land reclaimed from the sea at the mouth of the Var, west of the city. It handles a heavy schedule of airline flights, but it also has a separate business aviation terminal and apron. The airport group, Aéroports de la Côte d'Azur, describes Nice as one of the leading business aviation platforms in France and in Europe, and it also runs Cannes-Mandelieu and the Golfe de Saint-Tropez airport.

For you, the arrangement means an airline-sized airport with a private-jet experience. You arrive at the business aviation terminal rather than the main passenger terminals, clear passport control there, and walk or are driven to the aircraft. The business aviation and helicopters page from the airport explains how the terminal and the helicopter area fit together. Our Nice Côte d'Azur airport page collects the practical details in one place.

Leaving from Monaco

There is no fixed-wing airport in Monaco. Most travellers based in the Principality either drive to Nice along the coast road or the motorway, or take the helicopter from the Monaco Heliport. Visit Monaco describes the helicopter hop to Nice as a flight of a few minutes, compared with a drive that depends heavily on traffic, particularly in summer and on event weekends. We can arrange the helicopter transfer to connect with your jet so that the two are timed together.

Cannes-Mandelieu and Saint-Tropez as alternatives

If you are staying in Cannes or west of it, Cannes-Mandelieu can be an alternative to Nice for smaller jets. It is a business and general aviation airport with a much shorter runway than Nice and tighter rules. Aviation International News reported that the weight limit for jets was raised in 2015, but it still excludes larger aircraft, and the airport is closed at night and applies noise restrictions that rule out some older types. For guests leaving the Saint-Tropez peninsula, the small La Môle airport suits turboprops and some light jets. We check which of these airports your chosen aircraft can use before offering them.

Private flights from Nice: short European routes

The majority of private flights from Nice are short. Every European corridor in our route table can be flown nonstop in a light jet.

  • Milan (139 nm) is the shortest hop on our list, often faster by air than by road along the coast and through the tunnels into Italy. See the Milan–Nice corridor.
  • Geneva (161 nm) connects the Riviera with Swiss banking and, in winter, the Alpine resorts. The Nice to Geneva route has flight times and aircraft.
  • Zurich (235 nm) is covered on the Zurich–Nice page.
  • Paris (375 nm) is the corridor with the most observed activity in our data for Nice (see below). The Paris–Nice route guide covers both directions.
  • Ibiza (390 nm) links two Mediterranean summer destinations. See the Nice to Ibiza route.
  • Madrid (516 nm) and London (560 nm) complete the list. The Madrid–Nice page and the London–Nice route carry the detail.

On routes this short, bigger aircraft save only a few minutes. The reason to step up from a light jet is the cabin: a midsize or super midsize jet gives you standing room, a proper lavatory and space for the luggage that tends to accumulate over a summer on the coast. Our aircraft guide compares categories side by side.

Long-range routes from Nice: Dubai and New York

Two of our Nice corridors are long haul, and they need very different aircraft.

Dubai (2,588 nm). In our model, a super midsize jet is the smallest category that can fly Nice to Dubai nonstop. It is a popular corridor with residents who divide their year between the Gulf and the Riviera. The Dubai–Nice route covers flight time and aircraft.

New York (3,463 nm). Nice to New York is longer than the flight from Paris or London, and in our model it needs a heavy jet to fly nonstop. That narrows the choice of aircraft, and the westbound crossing against winter headwinds adds more pressure on range. The Nice to New York route page explains the options, including when a fuel stop can reduce the cost.

Fewer large-cabin jets are based on the Riviera than light and midsize jets, so long-haul departures often involve positioning an aircraft from elsewhere in Europe. Booking early widens your choice.

When departures from Nice peak

Riviera demand is strongly seasonal, and the flow of departures does not always mirror the flow of arrivals.

  • May is event month. The Cannes Film Festival and the Monaco Grand Prix usually fall in late spring, and the day after each one brings a wave of departures. Parking at Nice is under pressure during these weeks, and some aircraft drop passengers and leave, returning to collect them later. If you are leaving immediately after an event, book early.
  • Summer (June to August) is the peak. Weekend departures are busy all season, and the last weeks of August and the start of September bring a large outbound flow as families return home for the new school year.
  • Winter (November to February) is the quietest season for leisure traffic. Business trips from Monaco and Nice continue, and ski weekends to Geneva and other Alpine gateways add some demand.

We do not publish event dates here because they change each year. Check the official calendars, and tell us early if your departure is tied to an event.

Who charters a jet out of Nice

The people leaving the Riviera by private jet tend to fall into a few groups, and each one has different priorities.

  • Monaco and Riviera residents travel for business through the year, most often to Paris, London, Geneva and Milan. They value a short, predictable door-to-door time, so the helicopter link from Monaco and a light or midsize jet waiting at the business terminal is a common pattern.
  • Summer visitors and families leave at the end of a holiday with more luggage than they arrived with, children, sometimes pets and household staff. A larger cabin and a flexible departure time matter more than the last few minutes of flight time.
  • Yacht owners and guests often join or leave a boat along the coast. Their plans depend on the weather and the itinerary, so they need an aircraft that can move a departure by hours or days, and a broker who can re-book quickly.
  • Event guests fly out the day after the Film Festival or the Grand Prix, which is when the airport is at its busiest and flexibility is lowest.

Telling us which of these fits your trip helps us choose the airport, the ground transfer and the aircraft in one conversation.

What shapes the price of a private jet charter from Nice

The "From" figure in our route table is the lowest one-way estimate for the smallest aircraft that can fly each route nonstop. It is an estimate, not a quote. The price you will be offered depends on:

  1. Positioning. If the aircraft has to fly to Nice empty to collect you, or return home empty, the operator usually prices those hours in. At the end of summer, many aircraft are already leaving the Riviera, which can work in your favour.
  2. Aircraft category. A larger jet costs far more per hour, while on short routes it hardly changes the flight time.
  3. Fees and parking. Landing, handling and parking charges apply, and they matter more when an aircraft waits on the ground for several days during peak season.
  4. Timing. Event weeks and summer weekends are the busiest; mid-week departures in shoulder season usually give the widest choice.
  5. One-way or return. For a long stay on the coast, two one-way flights are often more efficient than keeping an aircraft waiting.

Our private jet cost guide explains how these factors combine. When you are ready, ask JetPriceCheck for a quote and we will come back with options from operators that have aircraft available.

Empty legs from the Riviera

Because so many flights arrive in Nice one way, aircraft often need to reposition out again, and operators sometimes sell those flights at a reduced price. That is especially true after event weekends and at the end of summer. The table above shows current empty legs from Nice; our empty-legs page has the full list. Empty legs suit flexible travellers: the date, time and airports are set by the original booking, and the flight can be withdrawn if the aircraft is sold as a full charter.

How busy are the Nice corridors?

Two Nice corridors have third-party activity figures. pereJets, in The Busiest Private Jet Routes in the World (2026), reports 738 observed private jet movements between Paris and Nice, and 416 between London and Nice. These are ADS-B tracking figures from a third party. We have not verified them and show them only to indicate relative demand; they say nothing about availability or price on your date.

How we arrange your private jet charter Nice flight

Booking a private jet charter Nice departure with us follows four steps.

  1. You tell us the trip: where you are staying (Monaco, Cannes, a villa or a yacht), destination, dates, passengers, luggage and pets.
  2. We plan the ground and the air together: the helicopter or car to the airport, the right airport for your aircraft, and any event-week constraints.
  3. We present a shortlist: two or three aircraft with the trade-offs explained plainly.
  4. You confirm, and the operator flies: the operating carrier is named on your confirmation and is responsible for the flight. We stay in touch until you land.

For other departure cities, the directory of charter routes lists every corridor we cover.

Planning checklist for private flights from Nice

  • Say where you are starting from (Monaco, Cannes, a villa or a yacht) so we can plan the helicopter or car to match the jet.
  • If you would like to leave from Cannes-Mandelieu or La Môle, tell us early; not every aircraft is allowed or suitable there.
  • In May and in summer, book well ahead and be ready to depart at a slightly different time if parking is tight.
  • Tell us about extra luggage, golf bags, bicycles or pets, as they can change the aircraft category.
  • Check that every passenger has the right travel documents for the destination and for any return leg.

Frequently asked questions

Which airport do private jets use when leaving Nice?

Most use Nice Côte d'Azur, which has a dedicated business aviation terminal. Cannes-Mandelieu and La Môle–Saint-Tropez can suit smaller aircraft, depending on weight, noise rules and opening hours.

Can I fly a private jet from Monaco?

Monaco has no runway for jets. Travellers usually take a short helicopter flight or drive from Monaco to Nice and board the jet there. We can time both together.

Can I fly nonstop from Nice to New York?

Yes, but in our model it needs a heavy jet, because Nice to New York is longer than the crossing from Paris or London.

When is the busiest time to fly out of Nice?

After the May events in Cannes and Monaco, on summer weekends, and at the end of August when families head home. Book early for these periods.

Are the prices in the route table quotes?

No. They are estimates for the smallest suitable aircraft. Your quote depends on positioning, availability, fees and timing.
